ABOUT SHAYNE
Shayne Maggard (she/her) is a multi-faceted performer - having studied theatre, film, dance, and even dabbling in circus. She is currently based out of Greensboro, NC and Pittsburgh, PA. Spending her childhood years living in Mexico and Nicaragua, she was raised with a curiosity towards learning the cultures and stories of other people. She combined this with her passion for performing, and graduated from High Point University with a B.A. in Theatre, with a concentration in Musical Theatre, as well as a B.A. in Spanish.
Shayne prides herself on being a versatile and driven person, and brings these qualities into her professional life as well. She has performed many notables roles, such as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Fiona in Shrek the Musical, Alyssa Greene in The Prom, Alice Murphy in Steve Martin’s Bright Star, and Marmee in Allan Knee’s Little Women.

Praised for her ability to take on feats such as swinging a show with 6 roles, dancing while on crutches, or stepping into a lead role with only days to prepare, Shayne is known for her ability to power through any challenges that may arise.
Through her hard work in the theatre companies she has worked with, Shayne has received numerous awards. She received the THETA (Twin City High School Excellence in Theatre Arts) Award for “Best Actress in a Musical” when she debuted as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. She also received the “Best Leading Female Performer” Award for her role as Alice Murphy in Bright Star, and the “The Show Must Go On” Award for stepping into the role as Judy London in the play Borrowed Babies with only 3 days to learn the part. She was also a winner of HPU’s “The Voice”, a university-wide vocal competition based on the TV show.

When not on stage, Shayne is an avid reader and gamer. She also enjoys teaching and choreographing, and is currently Co-Directing & Choreographing The North Carolina Leadership Academy’s Production of Footloose: Youth Edition.
